GLOVERSVILLE, N.Y. (NEWS10) — The Fulton County Regional SPCA received over $17,000 from the group 100 Women Who Care of the Adirondack Foothills. This donation will help domestic violence survivors and their pets.
The organization focuses on helping Fulton and Montgomery counties, using a collective fund they’ve all contributed to for quarterly donations. The money will be used to expand the animal foster program which collaborates with the Family Counseling Center in Gloversville.
When survivors enter a shelter, they will have the option to place their dog in a foster home temporarily for free. Organizers hope this will allow them time to focus on rebuilding their lives.
